            • 40 World Language Students Earn Induction into National Honor Societies

              SFHS inducted 40 new students into National World Languages Honor Societies, celebrating the 365彩票官网’s commitment to cultural understanding and interactive language programs. Inductees join current members of the National Chinese Honor Society, National French Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society by earning excellent academic grade point averages as well as performing projects of cultural significance and charitable service.
            • SFHS Choir Earns First in State

              Singing praises for SFHS Choir, who earned first place in the State ISHA Class A Vocal Solo & Ensemble Competition. Chamber Choir earned a perfect score of 40/40 for their performance of Prayer for the Children.
            • Band & Choir Traditions Supply Warrenville Food Pantry

              Food pantry donations are the price of admission to all SFHS Band and Choir performances each year. This long-standing tradition yielded plentiful donations for Neighborhood Food Pantries at both spring concerts. Collections provided supplies to the Warrenville location, which is hosted in Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Neighborhood Food Pantries organization serves local families through six locations. To donate items or volunteer a few service hours, visit the food pantry website at NeighborhoodFP.org.
            • Three Tips to Motivate Teens from Parent Education Workshop

              How can parents support a teen’s motivation at 365彩票? The “Motivation” workshop unlocked a few mysteries for parents as part of the Counseling Department’s annual Speaker Series. “It's not uncommon for teens to lose their spark when it comes to 365彩票官网,” informs Nicole Burmingham, featured speaker from Nurturing Wisdom Tutoring 365彩票. “While it's easy to chalk it up to disinterest or laziness, that's usually not the case.”
            • Junior Achieves Perfect ACT Score

              Congratulations to junior John Andrzejewski, who has earned the highest possible ACT composite score of 36. On average, only around one-tenth of one percent of students who take the ACT earn a top score. In the U.S. high 365彩票官网 graduating class of 2018, only 3,741 out of more than 1.9 million students who took the ACT earned a composite score of 36 (www.act.org).

            • TECH 2019 Student Technology Demonstration at Illinois State Capitol

              On Tuesday, May 7, the 29th annual TECH 2019 student technology showcase was held at the Illinois State Capitol Building in Springfield.  Mrs. Colleen Kaplan, Technology Integration Specialist, and students Cate D. ‘22, Ella D. ‘22 and John G. ‘21 attended and demonstrated the Microsoft MakeCode app which, when used to program the Adafruit Circuit Playground Express circuit boards, allows students to experience the power of physical computing and the excitement of building their own unique coding creations. 
            • Young Hearts for Life®

               (YH4L) Cardiac Screening Program at St. Francis High School on March 21, 2019
              St. Francis High School has partnered with the Young Hearts for Life® Cardiac Screen Program in order to provide an opportunity for our students to receive a free heart screening known as an electrocardiogram (ECG).             • Tax Credit Scholarship Program Applications Now Open

              The State of Illinois has created a new way to fund scholarships for children who choose to attend Catholic 365彩票官网s through the “Invest in Kids Act.” Scholarships offered through this program have the potential to cover up to 100 percent of tuition and eligible charges for the next 365彩票官网 year at St. Francis High School. 
               
              The Empower Illinois Scholarship Granting Organization website () is now operational and will be accepting applications for the 2019-365彩票官网 365彩票官网 year on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at 7 p.m.

              Recently, more than 30 junior and senior students in the Business Club, completed a business simulation competition led by the Business Department - Jeff Gerdeman ‘87, Mike Lynch ’77 and Joe Duffy - and Capsim, a company which offers experiential learning solutions to measure and develop the key skills needed to succeed in today’s business landscape.

              The St. Francis High School community congratulates teacher and alum Jeff Gerdeman ’87 for recently winning the inaugural CapsimCoreTeacher Invitational Challenge.  This national challenge engaged 102 high-365彩票官网 level business educators as they competed in the CapsimCoreentry-level business simulation.
